Directions to the "Watersite Outpost" are as follows:
It's easy if you know where Tally Lake Road is (the rough, gravel road that leads to Tally Lake Campground). Just follow the Tally Lake Road for one mile (390 Tally Lake Road) & take a left at the mailboxes numbered '380, 390,392 & 400'. Go down the drive until you see our big, gray kayak barn on the left.
If you don't know where Tally Lake Road is & you're coming from Kalispell:
Follow Farm to Market Road out of Kalispell about 14 miles until you see a sign for Tally Lake Campground and/or Tally Lake Road. Turn left (only direction you can turn) on Tally Lake Road & follow the above directions.
If you don't know where Tally Lake Road is & you're coming from Whitefish:
Take Highway 93 out of town to the Twin Bridges turnoff (turn left) just after Spencer Lake (about 3 to 4 miles out of town) on the left. Follow Twin Bridges Road - it has a slight detour where the road fell into the Stillwater River. This is the only confusing part. Twin Bridges road follows Lodgepole Road for a very short distance. Be sure to take the first right back onto Twin Bridges. There is a sign that clearly marks "To Tally Lake Campground" - follow these directions. You will come to a T in the road. This is Farm to Market Road. Turn left. After Bissell School, Farm to Market Road will come to a Y. Take a right turn (Tally Lake Road) - again following the directions to Tally Lake Campground, but only go up this road ONE MILE. Then follow the directions above.
It is a good idea to check the road signs when you get to Tally Lake Road. If you are at the intersection of Farm to Market Road & Twin Bridges then follow the above directions. If you are at the intersection of Farm to Market Road & Lodgepole Road, then instead of a left turn onto Farm to Market, take a righthand turn for a short distance to reach Tally Lake Road.
